Why we are called »The Installer Marbella«
First of all: Plumber is actually a misunderstood job title because the term is factually misused (in german).
In common parlance, the plumber is portrayed as a craftsman with a pipe wrench and is often confused with a plumber. Plumbers don’t actually work in the bathroom or on pipes, but rather create high-quality metal roofs and metal facades. In Bavaria, however, his name is Spengler. Colloquially, the plumber is equated with the gas and water plumber, since that used to be the same profession. Today he is therefore called a system mechanic for sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology.
When asked what I actually do, I like to say: Everything that has to do with pipes.
Of course, that’s not entirely true. Because I am involved even where something is fed in by boiler, gas heater, pump, etc. (house tecnic), in the technical room and where something comes out again, at radiator, filter, in the bathroom, in the kitchen and various devices in the house.
In former times, an installer only installed devices and system components, in contrast to, for example, heating and ventilation engineers.
As an apprentice, I decided to build heating and ventilation. At that time it was interesting because I was still able to learn to weld, namely everything: stainless steel welding, TIG welding, electric welding, gas-shielded welding and I also built the old, heavy, black cast pipes.
I was allowed to deepen welding skills in a larger factory as a locksmith, where I learned a lot that doesn’t even happen in a simple plumbing company.
But then I ended up with gas and water installation, heating and chimney construction, after various training courses in solar thermal (including photovoltaics), air conditioning and, of course, pool technology, which was less popular in Germany.
As a result, my specialist knowledge is relatively broad.
The nice thing is that the work is always interesting, extensive and by no means boring.
And why „the Chris“?
When I started my own business here, I was often said in conversations with other trades and new customers: Oh, YOU are THE Chris !!
